The Cutting sector carries out specific activities to prepare the semi-products necessary for fabricating our finite products – fittings.
The semi-products used are especially carbon steel pipes type OLT 35-45 K11, P235GH, P265GH, mild steel type 16Mo3, 14CrMo4, 10 CrMo10, stainless steel 1.4306, 1.4541, 1.4435.
The equipment used for semi-product cutting is as follows:– FBO horizontal band saws with maximum cutting diameter of 350 mm;
– Flame oxygas – maximum 609 mm;
– Universal lathes – maximum 1500 mm.The cutting of semi-products ensures the required length and thickness for fitting fabrication.
The main production sector of UPRUC CTR is the steel fitting forging workshop.
The principal technologies used are hot and/ or cold forging on traditional or specific equipment.Elbow hot forging according to STAS, DIN, ANSI is made on bending press machines with CIF warming domes and traditionally with methane:P20 tF – elbows R=1.5 D, R=D diameters between 25-60
P50 tF – elbows R=1.5 D, R=D diameters between 60-140
P160 tF – elbows R=1.5 D, R=D diameters between 140-273
P250 tF – elbows R=1.5 D, R=D diameters between 273-508The equal and reduction elbows are made by hot forging on the 400 tF press for diameters between 34-457 mm or by cold forging on the 1000 tF press for diameters between 34-168 mm.
The concentric and eccentric reductions are made by hot forging on the 400 tF press or on 2*400tF press for diameters between 25/20- 609/508 mm.
The forged elliptical lids with diameters between 25-609 are also made on the 400 tF or on the 2*400tF press.
Due to new market requirements, the bending sector has grown for R=2.5 D; R=3 D; R=5 D elbows with diameters in the 25-89 mm range.
The hot forging sector also does the specific calibration operations on the 1000 tF; 300tF; 500tF presses.
The sector has the required equipment to make finished products according to the sizes and forms required by applicable regulations and standards.Marking
Product marking is done mechanically on the marking machine or by manual punching.Elbows

Since 2006, UPRUC CTR SA FAGARAS has moved toward the metallic welded assembly production, mainly aimed at the ship building and the petrochemical industries. The yearly production capacity for welded assemblies is 350 tons, whereas in 2006, we produced and delivered 120 tons worth of second and third class carbon steel ship building piping to shipyards.Since 2007, the welded assembly production has grown, there are ongoing contracts to deliver to the ship building industry up to 35% of the yearly company turnover. Production has been upgraded in a flow based on traditional cutting technologies and welding equipment for WIG and MIG-MAG processes.The expertise accumulated in the area of welded fittings and pipelines, the specialized staff, the licensed welding processes, the marketing policy, all converged into increasing the production capacity, purchasing specialized technological equipment, increasing the overall operation and increasing the turnover in 2006 by 45% as compared to 2002.
The laboratory has the required equipment to perform trials and physical, mechanical tests and non-destructive tests, in compliance with the European standards:tensile strength test Rn, Rpoy, A, Z -SR EN 10002-1:2002
Brinell hardness test – HBS-SR EN ISO 6506-1:2002
